IET programs are often the first step in a career pathway that enables learners to secure industry relevant certification, obtain employment within an occupational area, and advance to higher levels of education and employment in that area.
Participants are dually enrolled in Adult Education to work on their High School Diploma, GED and/or English Language Skills. Simultaneously students decide on a training program that offer an industry recognized credential. The IET allows the participant to receive support by both agencies to improve and shorten the length of time it would normally take to achieve the skills needed for a career that can truly pay the bills. Participants receive wrap-around financial and academic support services which increases the likelihood of completion and success.
